Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 9 budget smartphone to it’s domestic market. The phone comes in different storage configuration and bunch of new features which are not there in the global version. Talking about the features, the China variant offers Dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz) and runs on MIUI 12 custom skin. The new storage configurations are – 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, 4GB RAM + 128GB and 6GB + 128GB storage. On the other hand, the global version of Redmi 9 comes in 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage options.
Redmi 9 : price, sale details
The Redmi 9 price starts from CNY 799 (roughly Rs 8,500) for the base model (4GB + 64GB). The 4GB + 128GB variant is priced at CNY 999 (roughly Rs 10,700) and the 6GB + 128GB is priced at CNY 1,199 (roughly Rs 12,800). First sale will be live on June 29 in Carbon Black, Neon Blue, Lotus Root Powder and Dark Green color options.
The Redmi 9 sports a 6.53-inch IPS LCD display with FullHD+ resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by MediaTek Helio G80 SoC paired with Mali-G52 for graphics processing. As mentioned earlier, the phone runs MIUI 12 skin based on Android 10.
Camera specification includes a quad camera setup on rear side which includes a 13MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 5MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. The front side gets an 8MP selfie shooter. The phone packs 5020mAh battery and 10W in-box charger. For fast charging, the phone supports Quick Charge 3.0. Additional features are – rear side fingerprint scanner, Dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC and USB Type-C.
